The reading that impressed me was ‘They got to
be carefully taught’. It showed me that teaching is really important and that
young children can absorb whatever the teacher teaches them really quickly. I
have learned that even children can be racist too. They can notice that they
are different from one another, because they have different skin color, hair
color, and some of them belong to another country. It is obvious that teachers
are not perfect and sometimes they make mistakes too. In the reading the teacher
sent the wrong idea to her students. What makes it hard to make everyone not
racists, especially here in the United States, because there are many
immigrants and for that they might think they are different from each other.
Teachers should learn more about other cultures and do their best to send the
right message to students.
